Last weekend was all about the practicalities. In other words, getting my little sewing corner just the way I want it!
So, I found this little tutorial online a while back and thought "brilliant - it's like an ever-changing wall of art". Plus, you get to hang all the fabrics for a project in one spot and have some time to see if you like them together or not.
These beauties are the fabrics I'm making those Simple Stars out of...working on those as we speak.
So, this is what one wall of my nook looks like now:
Do you remember this printer's tray I picked up a couple of weeks ago? Looks pretty ragged and kind of...gray, right? I was trying to figure out what I would do with it. Then I thought I better just give it a good cleaning first.
So, a little Almond Oil wood cleaner and a lot of elbow grease (dang, that's a lot of nooks in there!), it has a little more life - the oil really brought out the colour in the wood. I love it hanging over my sewing machine. And now that I have a wonderful little spot to put all my thread, I feel the need to buy more! But I won't. Honest.
